Job Overview

Position Title: Technical Field Coordinator (ESG)

Project: Mekong Sustainable Supply Chains Transformation and Advancement (Mekong Sustain)

Department/Unit: Trade and Investment Facilitation (TIF)

Contract Type: Special Service Contract (Field-based & partially home-based)

Thailand and Laos (1 position)

Reporting to: Project Manager (ESG) and Project Technical Consultant

Duration: August 1, 2025 – July 30, 2026

The Mekong Sustain Project aims to enhance the ESG performance of SMEs across automotive, textile, and agri-food sectors in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. The initiative facilitates access to technology, training, financing, and ESG compliance support, strengthening local companies’ ability to integrate into global supply chains while lowering carbon footprints.

Responsibilities

  • The Technical Field Coordinator will be responsible for the localized implementation of the project, with specific duties including:
  • Participate in regional Training-of-Trainers (ToT) sessions.
  • Identify and recruit SMEs for national-level ESG training (targets per country).
  • Deliver national training sessions in collaboration with co-trainers.
  • Support SMEs in preparing GHG inventory reports using the project’s digital portal.
  • Provide technical assistance and document feedback from SMEs.
  • Compile a database of relevant local partners (e.g., financial institutions, tech providers).
  • Adapt and translate project materials for cultural and linguistic appropriateness.
  • Submit reports on training implementation, SME progress, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Coordinate with MI and project stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery of project outputs.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Development, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, sustainability practices, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience working with SMEs, trade bodies, and government organizations.
  • Experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and B2B relationship-building.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including fluency in English.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with working in the Mekong or ASEAN region is an advantage.

Additional Note

Payment Modality:

Payment will be made on a lump-sum basis upon satisfactory completion of specific deliverables outlined in the contract. Timesheet submission is not required; instead, documentation and approval of tasks will be used for validation.

(Total remuneration varies by duty station: Thailand & Laos – USD 12,000, Vietnam – USD 8,000, Cambodia – USD 4,000, Myanmar – USD 4,000)

Governance:

The coordinator will operate under the strategic direction of MI, ensuring no misrepresentation of authority. Coordination must adhere to internal reporting mechanisms, with all decisions, partnerships, and communication subject to MI's final approval.
