Grant writer & Programs Assistant

Job Overview

The Grant Writer & Programs Assistant will support the Director, Deputy Directors, and project managers by writing grant proposals and reports, maintaining donor records, and assisting with internal documents and program support. This role involves donor communication, supporting team members, and contributing to outreach and program development.

Responsibilities

Grant Writing:

  • Maintain accurate donor records and database.
  • Ensure timely donation processing and donor acknowledgment.
  • Research and identify new funding opportunities.
  • Draft and finalize proposals and reports in coordination with project teams.
  • Monitor donor requirements and ensure project compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors.

Programs Support:

  • Edit organizational documents in English, Burmese, and preferably Karen.
  • Help develop annual and project reports.
  • Support staff, interns, and volunteers with their tasks.
  • Assist in drafting and updating policies, SOPs, and HR documents.
  • Represent the organization in external meetings and networks.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Help recruit, onboard, and evaluate interns and volunteers.
  • Keep volunteer records up to date.
  • Update website content and edit social media drafts.

General:

  • Conduct and document patient interviews.
  • Support outreach activities in Thailand and Burma.

Note: Duties may be adjusted based on organizational needs.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Advanced/native English proficiency (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of Burmese, Karen, or Thai is a strong advantage.
  • Experience in grant writing, program reporting, or nonprofit work.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to meet deadlines independently.
