The Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (RIMES) is an intergovernmental organization focused on generating and applying early warning information to enhance disaster preparedness and response across Africa and Asia. Established in the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami, RIMES is headquartered at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) campus in Thailand and supports regional efforts in multi-hazard forecasting and capacity building.
RIMES is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join its technical team dedicated to enhancing the PRECISE tsunami forecasting platform. The role focuses on data collection, analysis, model development, and integration of Machine Learning (ML) tools to improve forecasting accuracy and disaster readiness.
