Job Overview

ADPC’s Preparedness and Climate Actions (PCA) Department is updating its expert roster for the period 2025–2028. The roster will consist of professionals with expertise in disaster preparedness, recovery, and climate action. Being part of this roster allows for faster selection and deployment for consultancy assignments aligned with ADPC programs.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute expertise in response to specific consultancy assignments.
  • Work closely with ADPC program leads and teams.
  • Deliver outputs aligned with Terms of Reference (ToRs) for each assignment.
  • Maintain high standards of technical and professional quality.
  • Engage with government, private sector, and community stakeholders as required.

Qualification

  • Education:
    • Master’s degree or higher in Disaster Management, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Planning, International Development, Communications, Business Administration, or related fields.

    Experience:

    • At least 7 years of professional experience in the relevant area(s) of expertise.
    • Demonstrated technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
      • Industrial safety
      • CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear)
      • Fire and wildfire management
      • Graphic design
      • Heat and health resilience
      • AI/VR training systems
      • Risk data analysis
      • Instructional design
      • PDNA
      • Housing reconstruction
      • Recovery financing
      • Nature-based DRR
      • Machine learning in emergencies
      • Decision support systems
      • Institutional development
      • Research & knowledge management
      • Communications
      • Business continuity planning
      • After Action Review
      • Emergency operations management

    Skills:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and in diverse teams
    • Familiarity with humanitarian-development nexus
    • Experience with INGOs, government agencies, and international organizations in the Asia-Pacific region
