Job Overview

The Deputy Regional Director (DRD) for Asia supports IRC’s operations and strategy across multiple countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Pakistan, Thailand, and regional programs. Reporting to the Regional Vice President, the DRD will provide leadership in strategy execution, program quality, business development, partnerships, emergency preparedness, and staff mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee implementation of Strategy100 and country strategic action plans (SAPs)
  • Ensure high-quality, evidence-based programming across the Asia region
  • Support business development, including proposal reviews and donor engagement
  • Lead regional coordination, cross-functional collaboration, and performance management
  • Supervise regional staff and support country leadership teams
  • Represent IRC in regional forums, partnerships, and advocacy initiatives
  • Guide emergency preparedness and response coordination
  • Drive localization and equitable partnerships with local actors

Qualification

  • 7–10 years in senior leadership roles, preferably with INGOs
  • Strong experience in Asia and deep understanding of regional dynamics
  • Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Proven success in fundraising, business development, and donor relations
  • Strong strategic planning, analytical, and leadership skills
  • Experience with partnerships, MEAL, and emergency response
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 40% across the region
