Job Overview

The Regional Manager, Safety & Security (SEAP) will serve as the primary safety and security advisor across CHAI’s Southeast Asia and Pacific programs. The role involves leading risk assessments, ensuring policy compliance, managing crisis response, and strengthening the capacity of country teams through training, coordination, and technical guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the safety and security focal point for SEAP countries and new program expansions.
  • Ensure compliance with CHAI’s global safety and security policies.
  • Develop, update, and implement S&S frameworks, SOPs, and risk assessment tools.
  • Track, respond to, and escalate security and medical incidents.
  • Provide direct support during crises and emergencies.
  • Conduct in-country risk assessments and deliver staff security training.
  • Liaise with security networks, partners, and government agencies.
  • Advise leadership on safety risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with global operations to integrate safety priorities into planning.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5–7 years’ experience in safety/security management or related fields.
  • Experience working in international NGOs, embassies, or multilateral organizations (preferred).
  • Regional experience in Southeast Asia and the Pacific (preferred).
  • Strong crisis management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse teams.
  • Relevant security management or project management certifications (advantage).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
