Athan, founded on 15 January 2018 by youth activists in Myanmar, is a non-profit organization promoting freedom of expression. Emerging from RTTL and WSJ, it conducts research, advocacy, and campaigns against restrictive laws and practices, aiming to advance legal reform, protect free speech, and strengthen democracy in Myanmar.
The Researcher II will play a key role in producing evidence-based research papers to support Athan’s advocacy and education efforts. The role involves developing systematic media monitoring tools, collecting credible data on the ground, and producing high-quality reports and analyses on freedom of expression in Myanmar.
