Mae Tao Clinic (MTC)

Job Overview

The Medic will provide daily patient care, including consultations, admissions, and discharges, while working closely with supervisors, doctors, and other medical staff. The role involves monitoring patient care quality, coordinating with physiotherapists and nurses, ensuring proper use of medical equipment, and following clinic protocols. The Medic will also participate in skill-building sessions and support infection control and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient consultations, care, admissions, and discharges
  • Record and register patient information accurately
  • Consult with supervisors or doctors before referrals or investigations
  • Collaborate with volunteers, interns, and medical students
  • Make appropriate referrals to other medical services
  • Follow infection prevention and aseptic techniques
  • Monitor staff performance and support competency assessments
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of medical equipment
  • Participate in ward rounds and coordinate patient care
  • Attend CME sessions and relevant clinical trainings

Qualification

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a clinical care setting at MTC
  • Completion of advanced health training OR final-year medical student
  • Proficient in Burmese and English (reading and writing)
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Basic management and computer skills (MS Office, email, data entry)
