Consultancy Service for Thematic Report

Equality Myanmar

Job Overview

Equality Myanmar is looking for a qualified consultant to lead the research and development of a thematic report on conflict-related sexual violence in Myanmar. The consultant will analyze both quantitative and qualitative data, conduct open-source investigations, contribute to advocacy efforts, and strengthen the research skills of EQMM’s documentation team.

Responsibilities

Research & Data Analysis

  • Lead research and analysis of CRSV cases using EQMM’s data.
  • Verify and triangulate data from multiple sources.
  • Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical handling.

Open-Source Investigation (OSINT)

  • Use online tools to support findings (e.g., social media, satellite imagery).
  • Identify trends and possible perpetrators based on digital evidence.

Advocacy Support

  • Develop advocacy messages based on findings.
  • Contribute to infographics and visual presentations for reports.

Capacity Building

  • Train and mentor EQMM’s documentation team on research methods and data analysis.

Collaboration

  • Coordinate closely with EQMM’s documentation team.
  • Participate in internal meetings and consult with relevant stakeholders.

Qualification

  • Degree in Human Rights, Law, Political Science, Social Science, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in research, report writing, or human rights documentation.
  • Skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills in English.
  • Experience with OSINT is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with European donor-funded project evaluation is a plus.
