Finance Assistant

Job Overview

The Finance Assistant will support the financial operations of Issara Institute, ensuring effective, accurate, and compliant accounting and reporting. The role involves working with financial systems, particularly QuickBooks Online, and supporting compliance with Thai government regulations and donor requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and record financial transactions in QuickBooks Online
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and ensure supporting documentation is complete
  • Monitor revenue, payments, receivables, and payables
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations
  • Prepare and submit monthly tax reports (PND.1, PND.3, PND.53) and annual tax filings (PND.55)
  • Coordinate with the U.S. Treasurer and Thai auditor for financial documentation
  • Support compliance with Issara policies and GAAP standards
  • Assist with monthly expense reconciliations for the Bangkok office, regional team, and consultants
  • Track payments, support budgeting and financial reporting processes
  • Manage cashier duties and archive financial documents

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of accounting/finance experience; NGO experience preferred
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and standard accounting procedures
  • Knowledge of budgeting is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Comfortable using tools like Google Suite and Slack
  • Culturally sensitive, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
