Individual Contractor – Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment

Job Overview

ESCAP is seeking an individual contractor to support its Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment initiatives. The role will involve research, technical input, policy advocacy, event coordination, and communications, with a focus on women’s economic empowerment in the care, digital, and green economies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical input and materials for the Women’s Entrepreneurship Development Centre in Cambodia
  • Develop 2026 advocacy materials on the care economy, including communications strategy and case studies
  • Support coordination and documentation for the Cambodia High-Level Dialogue on Care and Entrepreneurship
  • Assist with preparations for regional and intergovernmental gender equality advocacy events
  • Contribute to research design for a study on women in the informal economy in Cambodia
  • Draft a regional policy paper on women’s economic empowerment in digital, green, and care economies
  • Provide input for a regional grant program supporting care enterprise initiatives
  • Document best practices, success stories, and lessons learned from supported projects
  • Prepare materials for the Pacific Islands Forum Women Leader's Meeting
  • Update ESCAP’s Gender Equality webpage and Asia-Pacific Gender Portal
  • Produce speeches, talking points, blog posts, press releases, and social media content
  • Support project implementation, monitoring, and reporting
  • Perform other duties as needed aligned with ESCAP’s gender equality goals

Qualification

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in research and program support
  • Strong research, writing, and coordination skills
  • Experience organizing events and supporting communications
  • Regional experience in Asia-Pacific (preferred)
