Job Overview

The intern will support the Trade Policy and Facilitation Section within the Trade, Investment, and Innovation Division. This role involves contributing to research, policy analysis, and technical cooperation in trade-related development issues across the Asia-Pacific region.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct background research, literature reviews, and draft reports related to trade, trade policy, and facilitation
  • Support activities of ARTNeT, UNNExT, and APTA including research dissemination
  • Monitor regional trade agreements and update the APTIAD database
  • Analyze trade flows, tariffs, and non-tariff measures
  • Assist in event coordination and outreach through websites and social media
  • Provide logistical support for training sessions, conferences, and meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Interns are encouraged to pursue research topics of interest in collaboration with staff

Qualification

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to write clearly in English
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Good organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in relevant IT tools and data analysis is an advantage
