Job Overview

The Partnership Facilitator II serves as Compassion’s main liaison with local churches, strengthening their capacity, ownership, and resources to serve children and youth. This role involves building trust-based relationships, guiding churches through planning and development processes, supporting child and youth programs, and ensuring safe environments. The facilitator works independently on moderately complex projects and may mentor other facilitators, while traveling frequently to churches along the Thai-Myanmar border.

Responsibilities

  • Develop collaborative relationships with pastors, church leaders, and project staff.
  • Promote trust, respect, and healthy conflict resolution.
  • Support churches in reflecting on ministry outcomes and planning for growth.
  • Facilitate church-owned strategies engaging children, youth, parents, and caregivers.
  • Assist churches in needs assessment, program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Guide churches in creating annual plans and budgets.
  • Lead Church-Facing Team (CFT) coordination and document support provided.
  • Oversee clusters of churches to promote collaboration and shared learning.
  • Support child protection policies and ensure timely reporting of concerns.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver program outcomes and commitments.

Qualification

  • Active member of a local church with a passion for children’s ministry.
  • Strong understanding of the Thai-Myanmar border context, church settings, and community issues.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
  • Fluency in Karen and Thai; conversational English; Burmese knowledge is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time to border areas safely.
  • Experience with NGOs/INGOs is preferred.
