Job Overview

The Research Physician provides high-quality clinical care for patients in HIV and sexual health services, both as part of routine services and research studies. The role includes supporting research protocols, advising staff and partners, and representing IHRI in meetings with ethical and governmental bodies. The physician ensures smooth clinic operations and contributes to capacity building and clinical guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver HIV/STI, sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction, mental health, and other emerging medical services.
  • Provide care for 40–100 clients daily, coordinating with counselors, nurses, and physicians.
  • Serve as a protocol-specific research physician for HIV/STI and PrEP studies.
  • Conduct clinical/lab assessments, eligibility screening, study product administration, follow-up, and adverse event management.
  • Review and update knowledge in HIV, sexual health, and clinical services.
  • Support development and implementation of clinic flows and SOPs.
  • Provide technical input for research protocols and represent IHRI in IRB/ethical meetings.
  • Support staff collaboration and smooth clinic operations.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualification

  • Doctor of Medicine.
  • GCP and Human Subject Protection (HSP) certificates or clinical research training preferred.
  • Minimum 1-year clinical experience in HIV and sexual health services.
  • Knowledge of HIV clinical research theory and practice.
  • Proficient in English and Thai; strong presentation, coaching, and training skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of Key Population-Led Health Services.
