Job Overview

IRC Thailand is seeking a Researcher Consultant to assess the economic feasibility of refugee employment in Thailand, particularly for camp-based refugees in Tham Hin (Ratchaburi) and Mae La (Tak). The consultant will develop a research study analyzing current opportunities, challenges, and models for refugee employment, with recommendations for national policy consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct desk reviews and stakeholder mapping.
  • Design research methodology, tools, and implementation workplan.
  • Lead consultations with key stakeholders.
  • Perform field visits (if required).
  • Analyze the economic impact and legal framework of refugee employment.
  • Draft and present preliminary findings and a proposed employment model.
  • Submit final report in English with actionable policy recommendations.
  • Organize a final presentation to the research committee and stakeholders.

Qualification

  • Master's degree or higher in economics, political science, social science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in economic/social research and policy analysis.
  • Proven ability to work with government, NGOs, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong research, project management, and report-writing skills.
  • Fluency in English and Thai.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and research tools.
