Job Overview

Position: Senior Project Lead

Contract Type: Regular Fixed-Term Contract (Renewable)

Work Location: Thai–Myanmar Border (Tak and Mae Hong Son Provinces)

Working Arrangement: Field-Based and Remote Work

Travel Requirement: Up to 50% of the time

Compassion International is seeking a Senior Project Lead to oversee large-scale, multi-phase projects in complex and high-impact contexts. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive project management experience and a passion for child and community development. The successful candidate will lead project planning, resource management, and execution while ensuring alignment with Compassion’s mission and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, resourcing, staffing, supply, and subcontractor management for major internal and global projects.
  • Apply structured project governance systems to monitor deliverables, resolve issues, and ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Develop project assignments, timetables, and delegate responsibilities for team members.
  • Recruit, screen, organize, and manage diverse project teams and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Provide regular progress reports and recommend changes to schedules, budgets, or resources as needed.
  • Ensure high standards of technical quality, reliability, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coach and mentor other project managers and support staff within the project management discipline.
  • Uphold and model Compassion’s core “Cultural Behaviors” in all interactions and communications.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in child development, community development, or related sectors.
  • Proven experience in managing complex, multi-phase projects, especially in international or regional contexts.
  • Certification in project management from a nationally or internationally recognized organization.
  • Proficiency in both Thai and English (spoken and written).
  • Demonstrated leadership, partnership development, and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of the Thai–Myanmar border context, including local church dynamics and regional social issues.
  • Experience working with NGOs/INGOs along the Thai–Myanmar border is highly preferred.
  • Active member of a local church, with a strong commitment to serving children and churches.

Note: Equivalent education, training, or certification may be substituted for the above qualifications.
