Job Overview

The Wildlife Crime Program Manager will lead WWF Thailand’s efforts to reduce wildlife crime by identifying and disrupting illegal trade networks, supporting enforcement efforts, and improving legal and regulatory responses. The position involves collaboration with Thai authorities, international partners, and donors to protect threatened native species and address transnational wildlife crime.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement WWF Thailand’s wildlife crime program.
  • Manage projects, ensuring timely delivery, technical and financial accuracy, and impact.
  • Support regional teams in identifying key wildlife trade routes and actors in Thailand.
  • Collaborate with government agencies to enhance wildlife crime detection, response, and prosecution.
  • Lead advocacy and public awareness campaigns against wildlife crime.
  • Maintain relationships with enforcement agencies to influence policy and enforcement actions.
  • Supervise project officers and consultants as required.
  • Identify and engage with donors to secure program funding.
  • Ensure compliance with WWF’s financial and operational policies.

Qualification

  • Master’s degree in wildlife conservation, environmental policy, criminology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in wildlife or natural resource crime reduction, preferably in Thailand.
  • Knowledge of Thai and regional political, environmental, and wildlife crime contexts.
  • Experience in field law enforcement is a plus.
  • Strong project management, proposal writing, and donor relations experience.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Thai and intermediate or higher English required.
